Estimado amigo:

Hola Luna Arte. Yo viajé a Mongolia hace unos 4 anos.
Si necesitas cualquier información me llamo Eva.

My Trip Journal: Sleeping in Gers, Riding Horses- Caleb and Laura
Day 11-13: Mongolian Countryside: We have really enjoyed our stay here in Mongolia. The country is absolutely beautiful, the people very friendly and hospitable, so much wide open space, and QUIET (outside the big city of UB).
Our stay at Chinggis Tourist Camp was very enjoyable, and we enjoyed sleeping in a Ger, eating traditional Mongolian food (cooked over hot rocks), riding horses across the steppe and along the Tuul River valley, and seeing the Milky Way stretch from Horizon to Horizon.
Truly memorable. It has been very restful and peaceful.
To further deepen our enjoyment of the place, we were the ONLY PEOPLE in the camp for the first day and a half!
We even tried the traditional Mongolian drink of fermented Mare's milk... truly an adventure. Sour, with bite, and particles floating around: not entirely enjoyable but memorable nonetheless.
Last night some Spanish tourists arrived, and we were all treated to a display of traditional Mongolian dance, costume, singing, instruments ... and KHOOMEI (throat singing)!! This was a highly enjoyable and unexpected experience, and we took many pictures and video. It was very interesting to talk with the Khoomei master afterwards and hear about his research and how he is not just preserving this traditional style of singing, but also moving forward with new innovations (i.e. moving from Pentatonic Khoomei into Diatonic Khoomei). There are colleges and Universities here in Mongolia specializing in training traditional musicians and dancers. Fascinating.
Today we visited Terelj National Park ... to see "Turtle Rock" but were entirely unimpressed. The park is "protected" but there is so much tourist development that it is almost like Disney World. We were actually allowed to climb Turtle Rock, which was surprising but fun, and discovered a lot of garbage at the top. That was sad. The natural beauty of the park is stunning, but it is difficult to go anywhere without running into busloads of tourists. Again, we found this surprising.
Next time, should we ever come back to Mongolia, we would try to get much farther away from Ulaanbaatar to escape all the tourists. Even near our ger camp there is a HUGE amount of development going on, surrounding the new Chinggis Khan statue/cafe that has been built in the middle of the steppe. It is a neat idea, but way over the top and will soon infringe upon the peacefulness of the land we enjoyed.
Spent the afternoon running around UB finishing up last minute things, trying to ship things back to Canada (to no avail), shopping, picking up our train tickets. We are SO GRATEFUL for all that he has done for us, but will be glad to get our freedom back!. Canada, Ontario

What a wonderful experience!. The Chinggis Camp was terrific, the food was great. My two guides did an outstanding job in taking me across the hills, valleys, and meadows to see the enormous Genghis Khaan monument. Being with them is an unforgettable experience. We shared many stories. They liked that I told them: "Make Love-Not War", that they should Dream and everything is possible.
I hope my visit gives them inspiration, being here with them was made me think of things a little differently. Everything very peaceful life, beautiful blue sky, and unbelievable nights with millions of stars. Unforgettabe visit.

Rally-2008: de Madrid a Mongolia
Para:Samar
Magic Tours
No

Hello Samar Magic Tours!,
It was so nice to hear from you. We speak of you often and
have found memories of our visit with you. Thank you for
the help with the money planning for the train. We had no
worries about having enough money. Your counterpart in Moscow
was very good and informative and we enjoyed the city tour
with her. We ventured into the city on the Metro on our
own the next day. The train journey was very relaxing and
we did alot of reading, resting, sleeping and eating. The
compartment next to us was occupied by a nice Russian couple
who shared some food with us and we did our best to communicate
with them, even tho they spoke no English and we spoke no
Russian. A greeting and a smile seemed to be universal.
One funny experience we encountered were the traders on
the train. They sold items at every stop even from the windows.
Prior to each stop we were well advised to stay out of the
aisles or we would be run over by the traders running back
and forth with their merchandise. We held up considerably
well on the 20+ hour journey home from Moscow to the US.
We were happy to arrive safely and be reunited with our
families.

When we first arrived in Ulaan Bataar it was late. All we
wanted to do was get out of UB and on to the steppe. The
next morning we were walking down Peace Street and came
upon Samar Magic Tours. We went in and saw their advert
for "Chinggis"
Tourist Camp. They said, "It has a great location in
the beautiful natural Tuul river Nomad's Sacred Valley of
streams, pine trees, just 50km to the South-eastern side
of "Terelj" National Park and 55km from UB. Our "Chinggis"
Tourist Nomadic Camp, was inaugurated in July 2002 in memory
of "Chinggis" Khaan's 840th Birthday Celebration!." Well
it was out of the budget but it was out of UB and looked
great. So we spent the next two days relaxing on the great
Mongolian steppe at the "Chinggis" Tourist Traditional Camp.

I wanted
to let you know how much I enjoyed my Mongolian vacation.
The location of the "Chinggis" tourist ger camp is extremely beautiful.
You should put pictures of the surrounding area on your
website. I think if foreigners saw how beautiful it was
they would like to come and spend a longer time, like I
did, not just pass through. Nara was a wonderful translator
and a big help all around. She helped me have the best vacation
possible. The food was excellent. The horses were better
than American horses. I was never bored. If you want to
use anything I wrote in advertisement , you have my permission.
Sincerely, Margaret Keene (USA)

I wanted to send you a note to tell you how much Joan and
I enjoyed our trip to Mongolia. We cought lots of fish and
Daschka, Narita and Dagay (I'm sure I'm spelling their names
incorrectly) made the trip all the more enjoyable with their
sense of humor and professionalism. I will think about Mongolia
in the months and years to come -- and hope I can figure
out a way to return. They tell me there are bigger taimen
out there...We've developed our slides and have sent the
best ones back to get prints. When they come back I'll scan
and e-mail them to you. If there are any that you want for
your brochure, let me know and I'll send you hardcopies.
Do not hesitate to give my name to people as a reference.

We've had a wonderful stay at Mr.
Gomez Hostel-the service is excellent and the staff is
very friendly and helpful. We also spent two nights at the
"Chinggis" Tourist Camp-the scenery is beautiful and we went
for long walls in the hills and along the rivers. We also
had a two hours ride on the horses belonging to a nomadic
family. The service at "Chinggis"
Tourist Camp was excellent. We had a great
stay even if it was a bit cold and snowy in the morning.
Thank you for being so kind and helpfull-we'll recommend your
hostel and "Chinggis" Tourist Camp to all our friends!. Hopefully
we'll be back next year!
